Lorsqu'on descend au sud du pays, toutes les routes menent à Guayaquil, ancien centre de construction navale devenu plus grande et plus vivante ville equatoriennes avec ses 2,8 millions d'habitants. La plus belle partie de la ville est sans hesitation la ballade entre le Malecon Simon Bolivar, quai aménagé le long du Rio Guayas, et Las Peñas, seul quartier colonial preservé... Le reste de la ville est tout ce qui fait d'elle une grande ville: grands batiments, grands magasins, circulation...
En fait on passera 4 jours dans la ville mais une seule apres-midi a visiter le centre. Nous passerons le reste du temps chez notre super couchsurfeuse España!!!
En effet, nous avons trouver un nouveau couchsurfing (notre premier en Equateur): une femme d'une quarantaine d'annee qui vit dans un quartier residentiel (Lago Caperira) plutot hupé a 30 minutes du centre ville. España est veterinaire et vit avec son mari allemand Wolfgang, ainsi que de nombreux chiens et chats... Le couple est tout simplement au top du top, tres acceuillant, tres chaleureux, tres cool: nous nous sentons vite tres a l'aise chez eux, malgre le fait qu'il fasse extrement lourd et qu'il y ait une coupure d'eau!
Nous rencontrons les voisines suisses Steffi et Ivana qui sont en stage; sympathisons avec elles ainsi qu'avec le tout voisinnage lors d'une soiree "cuisine internationale" pour notre seconde soiree, avec Diego, le chef cuisto argentin qui nous apprendra a faire des vraies pates (et a les manger biensur) et nous fera gouter le fameux cocktail Pisco Sour, cocktail national du Perou (Pisco, citron, blanc d'oeuf, glace, sucre), Terry & Mickey, un couple americain d'une cinquantaine d'annee qui vivent ici depuis 3 ans et ne parlent pas un mot d'anglais (elle est professeur et lui "botaniste"), Rosana la gentille voisine qui parle tres bien francais, les ptites suisses et enfin España et Wolfi qui arrivent en dernier alors que tout le monde squattent leur cuisine... Youhou, super soiree, super souvenir! (malheureusement les photos sont pourries)
Resterons une journee de plus a rien glander chez eux, comme a la maison!
Road to the South! where every roads are going to Guayaquil, which became the biggest and most living ecuadorian city with 2,8 millions of inhabitants! Guayaquil is mostly a big city, a business center, with a lot of huge buildings, big shops, a lot of traffic... However there is a very nice part which is from the Malecon Simon Bolivar, all along the Rio Guayas, to Las Peñas, the only one colonial district kept!
We'r gonna stay 4 days in the city but only one afternoon visiting the center. We spend the rest of the time in our great couch España!!!
In fact, we have found a new couchsurfing (the first in Ecuador): a lady around 40 years old who is living in a very nice residencial district called Lago Caperira, over 15km far from the town. España is a veterinary, lives with her german husband Wolfgang and many cats and dogs as well! the couple is super great, very welcoming. friendly, cool... we feel easily confortable at their home, even if the temperature is very high and there is no water!!!
We meet the swiss neighbour Steffi & Ivana who are here in placement, we are getting on well with them and soon with the all neighbourhood during an "international cuisine meeting" for the second evening with Diego, the chef cook argentinian who will teach us how to make real pastas, and Pisco Sour (the national peruvian cocktail with Pisco, lemon, egg's white, ice and sugar); Terry & Mickey, the 50 years old american couple who live here for 3 years and doesnt speak any spanish (she is teacher and he is a special botanist), Rosana the friendly neighbour who speak french very well, the swiss girls and of course España & Wolfi who will come later, whereas everybody is drinking and cooking in the kitchen! Such a nice atmosphere, such a nice evening, such a nice time in Guayaquil! (unfortunately the pictures suck!)
We stay one day more lazying on the sofa, like at home!!!
